Default adjust timing with 1250 kit.

I saw on Hammers site i believe they recommended a 5 degree retard with the 1250 kit. Anyone ever adjust timing after installing the kit? Been trying to dial in the carb and still seems a bit off.

Why not shoot an email to Hammer and get their recommendation?

Assuming (you didn't say) that you upgraded from an 883, a timing adjustment should be done.
Depending on the model year of your bike (again you didn't say), how you make that adjustment varies.

Yeah it was an 883, stock heads, stage 1 air cleaner and drag pipes. Bikes a 1993.

Its an nrhs kit, not a hammer. However I noticed on the hammer site for their kits they recommended a 5 degree retard on the timing with stock heads so I was just curious on what others have done.

I'm sure Dan at NRHS would be more than happy to help you, send him an email or call. I can't imagine why you did not call/email him first before even asking the "peanut gallery" to chime in. Let us know what you decided about timing.

+1 - Just give Dan at NRHS a call, he's always very helpful.

If you have a 2004-2006 get a tc88a ignition module.
