Default The Bike won't start,2007 sportster, missing something

I hid the wiring on my 2007 sportster but only cut minimal wire and reattached the same wires together with solder and shrink tube. I also bought a new battery, painted the bike and engine. NOW the B*tch won't start. All she does is flash blinkers left to right, show the neutral sign and oil sign but doesn't turn over. Can't here fuel pump and doesn't turn over. CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

I am Army Vet. My Father is a Vietnam Vet. We customized my 2007 883 Low on our free time. Now I have to sell the bike to pay for his Hospital Bills. I need it to run to sell it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If the fuses are O.K. then it's unlikely to be a short circuit. Sounds more like a bad connection somewhere. Test for power to starter solenoid, and check all earths first. If you have power to the starter then she should turn over. Sounds simple, but make sure the kill switch is in the 'run' position. (I've cussed at mine for ages before realising that I'd accidently knocked the switch 'off'.)

Recheck your battery terminal connectors again (especially the neg. one). If loose it will show light but won't have enough power to crank.

Does or did the bike have a security system? With the lights blinking but the bike not starting it sounds as though it is security system related or neutral safety switch related.

Sounds like your security system is armed. If the bike is sitting on the stand and you pick it upright do the lights start to flash?

That's a good point and if not the battery in the key fob, check and see if the antenna is connected to the 4pin connector on the TSM/HSFM module which should be in the battery compartment.
