Tzrider said he used a 2013 Dyna fat bob rear wheel. Isn't that a mag wheel? Is it possible he meant street bob?

Not a mag wheel... in his case, it was a spoke wheel... Did you look at the photos in the first post?... Here is one:

There are other options... but the problem with the 48 is to find the matching front wheel...

At some point I looked at moving from inner tube setup to tubeless wheels... looking at the wheels that come in the new Fat Bob...this one comes in black so no additional expense to get them powder coated... same size....but again, that still leaves the front to figure out... I just do not want to spend the amount of cash that would be needed to get RSD or any other after market wheel set...

Or the other option from HD that is also a fit for the Fat Bob:

Wow that 180 looks great! This is going to be my next project after I get the exhaust and the power commander installed on my new 48

Is the Michelin Scorcher 180-55-17 the only tire that will work for this conversion? Can I use a different brand as long as its a 180-55-17? I read on a different forum someone tried a Avon 180-70-17 and rubbed the belt. Also is there a all chrome wheel that can be used? thanks.

A 180/70-16 from Fat Bob or
180/65-16 from recent tour bike
should also work on a 16x5.00 rim.

The actual fitted width of any tyre can be different to it's nominal width, also different to the same 'size' of other brands. I have a 160/70 tyre that measures 167mm on my rim, so is 1/4" wider than nominal, but have had a 140/90 that only measured 139mm. So there is no guarantee that swapping brands will work, although you may also get better clearance.

Hey guys I'm a noob and just bought an '08 nightster not too long ago. I've been looking at this conversion and was wondering if this can work on a nightster also? Any thoughts? I know the 48 replaced the nightster so I'm assuming it would be the same cuz I was then going to move the rear wheel to the front
