Default iron 883; no clue of previous ecm tunning help.....

My question is this; i bought a 2009 iron and it came with a screaming eagle intake, now i want to add some V&H short shots and a V&H fuel pack but i dont know if the previous owner had tuned the motorcycle for the screaming eagle intake. will i damage my engine if i install the V&H short shots and fuel pack if the ECM had a tune already? or will the V&H fuel pack just over ride the tune made for the screaming eagle intake??

Your bike will run like poo if ur tuned for current mods and add short shots with a different map. I did that last week and hated how it ran lol.

But that's a good question, I was wondering the same awhile ago. But I use a power vision and you can swap maps really quick. Just a bit more $. But i change my mods alot so it's worth it

If I had to guess, I would say the bike has the stock tune in it. Why anyone would retune a bike for a breather is beyond me. And if the bike doesnt have an aftermarket tuner on it yet, that would mean he paid someone good money to do it. Really doesnt add up .

The screaming eagle intake asks on the instructions for a tune "if ran without a retune severe engine damage will occur" ????

is this an intake manifold, or just a breather?

Adding the air cleaner by itself wouldn't need a tune. If you change your pipes then yes, you will need a tune. My dyno graph shows A/C with new slip-ons before the tune had a rich low-end AF and real lean AF topend. I had the stealership do it and bought the SERT. Ended up at about 60hp and 52 TQ rear wheel and rev limiter was raised so it screamed. Just did 1200 kit now too and am at 86hp/72TQ
You can check my dyno graph here. I'm ironrodent on the last page of dyno sheets.
