Default '13 1200C laydown plate???

Greetings everyone. My wife just got a 2013 1200C and I would like to put a laydown license plate bracket on it. You newer 1200C owners know that it doesn't have the standard taillight and plate bracket. Has anyone come up with a way to do a laydown mounting for their license plate?

I've done a search here and can't find anything.

Thanks.

doesn't the plate bracket still just bolt to the fender in the standard 3 bolt triangle pattern?

Part # 3148 kuryakyn lay down plate will work on your wife's bike. If you google the part number and kuryakyn you can find it cheaper. I got one for 50 through Dennis Kirk.

No, it doesn't. If it did I'd get the same setup I have on my bike. This is a new setup with these new 1200C's.

Thanks, I'll try that.

OK, I just checked it out. That fits the old three hole setup. These new 1200C's have the plate frame built into the taillight, which is a different taillight than the sportsters and dynas have been running for years. Hmmmmm.

Maybe call Kuryakyn. They do have this listed as the part for your bike. But it is definately a 3 hole instal.

I just found this out the other night. Ordered the lay down bracket from cruiser customizing. Got it for $34. But to Crazy's point, the stock license plate bracket and taillight are one assembly on the 13' 1200C's. I'm sure the MOCO will make some different assembly that will work for $1million dollars. They did the same thing with the driver pegs too on the 13' customs. You have to get an adapter for aftermarket pegs. I thought about taking the tail light assembly off just to see what could be done. Please update the post if you find something that works. I'll do the same.

I painted the back of my license plate gloss black on my 2013 Custom. It doesn't lay it down but at least it looks a lot better.

This is what I did. Took all of 5 minutes with my hands and the plate was still mounted with a black metal frame around it. It follows the curvature of the fender perfectly but the LED plate light no longer lights up the plate.
