well it all depends on the rider and how they are on the throttle, with mine and getting on the throttle mildly i get around 40-45

I ride in mostly Philly stop and go urban traffic. That's about what I get. 33mpg isn't unusual. When I do mixed traffic I'll get around 40mpg and when on the slab I'll get 45mpg. I'm not too light on the throttle either.

Default 200km/120m per tank

I bought a 2013 Iron 883, finished break-in a week ago.
Mileage is about the same as the OP, it was like that at first and still is.
Is there something wrong or will it get better over time?
Cause its too low compared to other peoples 45-up mpg.

Thanks,

J Bar

Read my post above yours. Gas mileage has too many variables to say what normal is for all Sportsters. There are many Sporty owners that get mileage similar to what you, me and the OP gets. There are also many of those that get 45, 50, and even 55 mpg.

I average 36 mpg on my 48 with a stage one. But I am kind of heavy handed on the throttle.

Also have an '11 iron...I'm getting around 55 on the highway from Norfolk to Pittsburgh area, but around town I usually see around 40ish. It really just depends on how much throttle you give it, for the first week I was in the 30 range as well.

I have a 09 Iron bought from new. My early riding (break in and light throttle) I was getting 45 - 50 mpg combined city/highway. Now, (heavy throttle) I get about 35mpg. So, if you're tearing it up, I would say you're about right.
