Dumb question, does the throttle grip come already on the turning part? or do you have to cut the old one off like on the left side.

Throttle Grip is separate and just slides off once you remove throttle and idle cables. The video shows exactly how too. Make sure not to lose the brass ferrules that hold the cable in the throttle grip. Also the new Harley grips on the clutch side no longer require glue. They've been redesigned and lock into the left switch housing. This may not be true if you choose non Harley Davidson grips fyi.

I'm going to be replacing my grips this weekend and I've read and watched a few videos that I've found. My question is in re-adjusting the throttle cables do you just tighten them up based on the tension and play in the right grip, or as in the 2nd video here - do you actually need to take off the air cleaner and check the throttle body?

sgr60 You should take the air cleaner off just to make sure opening and closing all the way!You can cheat buy marking the threads with a sharpie and then running the adjuster back up to your marks(this only works if you are using the same bars!).I recently bought some arlen ness grips and the throttle grip would stick when the weather cooled off,the material has some flaws in it,so be careful what grips you get.I even sanded off the powder coating on my apes and it would still stick, went back to stock and works great again!

Thanks - that's definitely helpful. Going to give it a shot on Saturday. I bought harley grips, so hopefully everything works well.
