Rear wheel removal to install chrome pulley cover
I just bought chrome upper & lower belt guards along with a chrome pulley cover (all HD parts) for my 2007 XL883C. Any advise on removing the rear wheel to install these parts. Do you have to remove the brake caliper from it's mount as well? Do you have to remove the lower shock bolts to get the rear wheel out? Does the belt need to be re-tensioned? Any publications out there online? I did stop at Sears and get their 1500 pound bike jack which has been reduced from $99 to $69 thru 02/24.

Wheel removal-Loosen axle, slide wheel foward and slip belt off sprocket.Remove cotter pin, axle nut and washer.Tap end of axle with hammer to loosen.Pull axle free of frame assembly.Remove spacer then rear wheel.Yes you have to adjust secondary drive belt. You should invest in a repair manual. Id be lost with out one
