Default Stupid Reflectors

Well I removed the reflectors from my iron today. I'm wondering if and how you guys removed the ones above the swing arms up under where the rear shocks mount? i pried them out but it leaves the metal tab that they were mounted on there. tried removing the bracket only to find it is built into the same piece the license plate is on.

Do you have a state safety inspection? If so, I'd keep those reflectors handy so you can stick them back on with some double stick tape or something. Just temporarily of course while your bike gets inspected. Here in MO you can get a ticket for not having the proper reflectors.

You can remove the shocks and cut them with a electric saw or you can heat them up with a hair dryer or heat gun and they peel right off.
Good luck

i took mine off this weekend. removed fender, drilled pop rivets, had to modify tag mount, then threw everything back on. it's much better IMO. i routed the wires through the frame rail covers instead of inside the fender since the part that holds the reflectors holds the wires back. fun little job if i must say.

yes i could see as i started to take it apart that i was into more than i had time to do at 3 in the afternoon. if i could have gotten my dremel in there with a cutting disk i would have cut them off and been done with it. unfortunately the angle and space to get to them wasn't right.

What's really scary is that as I was reading down this thread I said to myself..."Dude, why don't you just shoot them off?!" and then not 5 seconds later I read your response to shoot them off with a .45...'like minds'n all....LMAO here!

=8^)
