Default Mini Apes

2013 XL1200C...Thinking about putting mini apes on my bike. Would I need longer cables? Just curious what or if there is anything I would need to modify. TIA for your replies.

Have you checked with the dealership about this? I talked to the folks in the parts dept about this same mod for my '07 Custom. The consensus was that I would need new cables. I never got around to the mod because it would have cost too much and I would have gotten to little return.

I asked this question a few days ago about my 08 nightster. The consensus I got was if the mini's were 8" or under the stock cables should fit... hope that's right cause mine are on the way.

I believe you can go with a 10 inch mini ape and possibly 12 inch if your are willing to bend your brake line, and re route the wiring and cables.

On my '09 custom i only had to get a new brake line....however the control housing cables are a little stretched to the max, I have 10" road 6 customs bars. Heres a few views, hope it helps.

Im getting those same bars but the 8" next week. Hopefully no lines will need to be replaced.
