Default Leaking Petcock

My fuel petcock has started to leak on my 1998 1200 Sportster. I stopped by the dealer and they told me that there is no rebuild kit available. I've looked online, and have found some kits but am not sure if what I found will work. The aftermarket petcocks that I have found do not have the vacuum line. Will those even work with the carb I have? I was thinking about removing the petcock and trying to re-work it with the parts installed.

Any ideas??? Thanks

You can replace just the petcock "body" instead of the entire petcock. I bought one last year and the complete body was around $25.00, ordered online.

I put a Pingle in mine, and it's easier to use than the stock one.

If you go with Pingle, you have to eliminate the VOES. I thought there was a thread on here on how to rebuild the stock or replace with Pingle and remove VOES equipment.

I had to replace the body on mine this winter, the brass tube had pulled out. I was thinking of using an aftermarket one, but HD was cheaper.

Yeah, I went and looked at some Pingle's today. They run $219 new, and I could get an already opened one possibly used for $150. Today, the thing isn't leaking. If it starts up again I'm going to try and take it apart and stretch the springs. If that doesn't work, then I'll probably just buy a cheap replacement without the vacuum.
