I'm gonna look at some kits then. I'm probably gonna go with the DK kit.

I haven't rode on it yet, but Agove has. He said it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. I don't know if long rides are gonna be an option, but I plan on getting a big twin eventually anyway for that. The longest I've ever ridden this bike was from Charleston to Myrtle Beach. I personally think that sportys are made for short trips anyway.

I only rode around the neighborhood for a little bit, but I purposely hit some nasty bums and even though it didn't take them like shocks would, it wasn't bad at all. I expected way worse.

Wow nice bike bro. Love the pipes, how do they sound? Are the too loud?

The pipes were definitely too loud at first. I got some dk Thunder torque baffles and threw them in and that fixed the issue. It was also backfiring and bogging down at higher RPM's and that also stopped with the inserts. I had to drill a couple small holes about 4" away from the tips but it was a really easy install. Now they're about as loud as my screaming eagle pipes without baffles were.

Went over and did some work on the bike yesterday. The paint on the rear fender didn't look quite right so we sanded it down and started over. We mocked everything up as well and took it for a ride. It's a very smooth ride honestly. Probably not quite as subtle as the stock suspension, but it's very ridable.

We also put some really sick decals that Austin found on the tank. I think they're badass.

The way this project is evolving have you though about a weld on hard tail? That is pretty much a "mod of no return", but ; that seems the look you are going for. Is that a practical option for the rubber mount? I am new to the forum and I honestly dont know.

Another alternative are the Burley black slammer shocks. You get the lowering and it still looks real. I guess, that solid bar seems neither functional or good looking. Now, that is just me, kinda liking the Burley option.

Can you legally dump the speedo in your state? I would rather have none and go for the clean look, than hanging over the side. Same thoughts for front turn signals.

I like the way my speedo is. I wouldn't want to get rid of it anyway. And I like the rigid struts too. I don't see at all how they're not functional. They function perfectly in my opinion. They were designed to do exactly what they're doing. Turn signals will be installed soon. I'm not really going for the completely stripped down look. Plus that would be illegal. And that would make the bike non functional. I like the bike the way my friend and I are building it.
