1200 custom carb problem HELP
Hello everybody,
Ive got a 2003 1200 custom 100th Anv.
A couple of days ago my bike wouldn't start. Popping and backfiring through the pipes. I found out that the choke cable was worn out and wasn't letting the choke work so it was getting flooded very bad.
Yesterday, I replaced the choke cable and it started right up. It sat for about 2 hours and I went to start it again and same thing. Popping and backfiring through the exhaust.
Today, same thing. So I took the carb off and apart, and gave it a good cleaning as well as made sure the new choke cable is working properly. I out it all back together and it started right up so went for a ride. It sat for awhile and I tried to start it and again backfiring and popping very loud through the exhaust!!!!
Does anybody have any idea what is causing this? IT ONLY DOES THIS WHEN ITS COLD. After it starts, it runs like a champ.
Thanks for any help and advice!!!

I don't know what the problem is, but if it's running fine when it's warmed up, it almost has to be something related to the enrichner (choke) mechanism.
A choke blocks the intake to increase the fuel to air mixture.
An enrichner, which is what you have, adds fuel to the existing fuel and intake air mixture.
