Help: confused about Thunder Monster Baffles on 2010 Iron with SEII's
I am a little confused about the Big City Thunder Monster Baffles for my 2010 Iron with screamin eagle slip-ons. I don't mind my exhaust sound but want something louder, performance is pretty good. Thought about short or side shots but after reading about the Big City Thunder Monster Baffles, could be a good choice for now.
I thought I would be removing the SE baffles and putting their baffle in but when I called them, they said I should insert there baffle (part #2003) into the head pipe. I would then need to either remove the SEa slip-on baffles completely or modify them so that I could see light through them if I held them up to the light.
They said if I just removed the baffles, it would be extremely loud as if I was running drag pipes. They didnt give me any direction on how to modify them. I was kind of thinking it would be good to keep the original baffles incase I get a sound violation and can throw them back in to get tested.
Anyway, does someone have some experience with these and give me some advice. How do they compare sound wise to short shots?

Do you have the SE's (current SE's from HD) or the prior ones that are not available, SEII's?
Regardless, if it were me and I wanted a different sound, I'd pull them off and sell them as-is. Either version of those seem to be easy to sell and fetch a good price. I'd then take the $ and get whatever slip-ons (Maybe Rush?) that has a sound that can be changed easily with their in-house baffles.

It can be confusing. I went through this myself. The current ones are not the II's. The actual part number is stamped on it. The current SE's are 50 state legal. I think that's the difference.
I looked weeks for a set of decent SEs or SEIIs and they were tough to find. New ones are $300, so if yours are in good condition, then they'd sell. I would have paid $200 for a nice set.
