Default 48 Wider Tire

Well I went with the Dyna 4.25 wide by 17" Dia. black wheel. I decided to run the 160/70x17 Michelin scorcher tire. It runs about 6 7/16 wide. The 48 original tire is about 5 7/8 wide. This rim slides right in with no issues. I'll post the part numbers later this weekend. it was pretty much rim, tire, tube, bead and wheel install kit. I re-used stock external spacers. The 160 tire fills the back fender just right for me and there are no modifications needed. The 17" rim is nice in the rear. You get to see more of the spokes. All in all a good mod...

Just waiting on my 3.3 gallon tank to be painted and I'm done...

Its about 3/8 inch overall larger in diameter. Not much difference there since it would be 3/16 for the top and same for the bottom.

Sounds sweet. I was wanting to put a 6" wide crossbones rim on my wide glide and then maybe the 4.5" rim on my sportster. I still have tread on my 180 which really fills up the fender pretty well.

Did you reuse your stock spokes? What did you buy other than the hoop?

Can you fit a 180 on that wheel? Please post part numbers when you get the chance! I plan on doing this also. Thanks! And your bike looks great!

a 180 comes stock on the newer wide glides and that is a 17" rim. Not sure about other dynas though.
