Default exhaust stud removal

I have an 08 nightster and was fixing the wrap on my header and put it back on and over tightened it and snapped the stud. Now majority of people say use the removal kit and your fine and someone else said o you have to pull the motor out take the jug head off use a laser do this do that sounding way to $$$$$ what needs to be done

If there is still some stud exposed you can just back it out. If it is snapped off flush then you need to drill it out (some people will take the head to a shop as you stated).
