Talking Nightster Mods

So this weekend I removed my stock baffles and added the DK Customs Thunder Torque Inserts (W158 model). I also installed an MREED Air Cleaner and XIEDs. I'm very happy the way everything came out. The exhaust sounds a hell of a lot better and the torque has definitely increased in the lower gears. The thunder torques were a PIA to get in but all the hard work paid off. I want to thank Kevin at DK Customs for the great products and customer service as well as MREED for his DIY A/C mod. Feel free to ask any questions about the install or make any comments. Pics to follow...

Post Install pics

1) Drilled stock baffles out with a 1 1/4" hole saw.

2) Installed Thunder Torque Inserts 2" from the end of the exhaust pipe.

3) Installed MREED DIY Air Cleaner and Nightrider XIEDs.

did you drill them out with the 11/4 hole saw from the clamp side of the exhaust?

No, I drilled them from the back of the muffler. There is a tube within the muffler about 1 inch in diameter, the hole saw goes around the outside of the tube. Drill down for about 1/2 inch or so. When you break through the weld the tube will become loose and you can then knock it out from the clamp side using a long drill bit or whatever. There are a couple YouTube videos on how to do this.
