whats up guys,
Iam thinking aboutputting a dyna low rider tank on my 2003 1200 custom. I was looking for feed back for anyone whos done it. I think i saw a post from william in texas who did it on a 2000 1200 custom. I wanna know what king of mods it took and if its worth it. I like my tank but want something bigger than the 3.3 and alot of the after market tanks suck and are no bigger than 4.0 anyway. anyone with some thoughts? When I figure this thing out I will post some picks of my bike. thanks, Wild Hog

 

I don't know about the fit but if you got an anniversary one the same color as your bike you'd blow some minds.

Thanks for giving a shout. The fit is really my question. I have a luxury blue pearl anniv. bike so the switch to the dyna tank in the same color would look sick and def. blow some minds! Wild Hog

I thought I was the only one!!!!!!!!!! Sweet ride man. You have good taste anyway!

 

it will not fit unless you modify the tank mounts. the dyna models mount at the top of the cross tube and the sportster, mounts to the middle of the cross tube. the mounts on the dyna tank are up high and the sportster mounts are lower.

 

you can buy a aftermarket bobber tank if you are looking for a bigger, thicker tank. that will plug and play without any mods

Thanks for the info. man. I have been looking for an aftermarket tank that looks like a harley tank and holds over 4.gallons but have not had any luck.I think I am more frusterated than anything at this point. Again thanks for the input brother. Bill

 

You problably already looked but J & P got many different tanks that should fit a Sportster. Good Luck or I'll see ya at the fillin station.
