Default Decel popping V&H HS slip-ons.

I installed V&H slip-ons, hi-flow intake, and a PC-V on a '13 1200C. I'm using a canned map for the setup that I got from PowerCommander's web site. I'm getting some good popping on decel from 3500 down to about 2500. I put my hand around the exhaust ports and down by the crossover and didn't feel any leaks. I'm wondering if changing the map to maybe -5 in these ranges would help? Anybody else using these mufflers with the same problem?

You can detune it out. The popping dont hurt anything and the easiest way to eliminate it is to pull the clutch in. May not be the cool kid with loud exhaust thing to do but it will stop it. I will also note what works on another bike will not it is a shoe in to work on yours. FWIW, when my exhaust was bone stock I could make it pop like popping pocorn in that rpm range too if I wanted to, it was just more muffled.

Good luck and I hope you find a fix.

I have them and have zero popping.. 883 Iron with stock air cleaner and stock ecu. I've had 2 sets of these and had a little popping with my older ones with intake and Fuelpak. The exhaust port gaskets are also a source of leaks that cause decel popping, make sure they are tight.

I don't know how pcv setup is as I went with tts. To help rid mine I enrichened fuel mixture at lowest map pressure from 1500-3500 iirc to around 12.6 so I am in open loop there. Also had decel enleanment to richen the immediate response after letting off throttle for that first few seconds. I still get a slight pop hear or there but that is just the nature of the beast. Once warmed up I can rap the rpms good and not hear a pop hardly ever. Closed throttle spark also helped. Again this is tts and I know the new pcv is better than before but may not have some of mentioned functions.Ask over in the tuner side and you may find more people familiar with pcv.

I have V&H StraightShot slips on with a high flow aircleaner and Xieds. I also have the decel popping. If I remove the Xieds it goes away.

It has to do with the extra fuel and the amount of air that is getting up in the exhaust pipes causing a detonation in the pipe itself.

Learn to deal with it or get a new exhaust.

I have an 883 iron with khrome werks slip ons, se stage 1 filter and a pcv with canned map and also new crossover pipe gaskets and I still get decel popping, more so when cold and only slight when hot. I have just learned to live with it and pretty much every hog ive heard has some decel pop! In fact I took a 2010 softail out with v+h pipes and stage 1 and man the decel was horrendous loud!

I have a 2001 RK, Big Shot Duals, stock ECU. U a ing a PCIIIr old school. My question, if I get a bit of a backfire when shifting up, is it too rich or too lean? Not sure if I should increase or decrease? And, at what rpm range?
Any suggestions? Hope I'm not hijacking your thread.

I've got V&H 3" twins slash slip ons, a Ness big sucker stage 1 and SE super tuner. I also get the decel popping. But I actually like it!
Before I had the SE stage1 AC (with the ham can) on and didn't get the popping.

I had decel popping as well. I contacted power commander tech support and they instructed me to increase fuel from 1250 rpm to 3500 rpm. This stopped the popping.

Holding your hands around certain areas of exhaust isn't a good method to leak-check. Get a set of HD leather gloves, start bike and hold hands over pipe-ends (seal)...listen for hiss/whistle - there's your leak(s).
