Default Solo seat vs. Spring seat

I have read the forums but haven't seen anything as specific as this. If it's out there and I missed it please let me know. I'm riding on a stock 48 seat and after 30-40 minutes' I know I've been riding. I like the look of the spring seat more than a solo, but the bare bones is a good looking seat, don't get me wrong. I'm looking for some advice and experience from everyone out there, thank you kindly.

Try DK Custom's old thread for some ideas on the spring seats...

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...keover-24.html

I am also looking for a spring solo and the barrel springs seem to have a good rating as far as comfort...

The Lepera Bare Bones seems alot more comfortable than a spring seat...but im sure you could find a compromise between style and comfort...

I have a spring seat, and I find it more comfortable than the stock one.
The longest I have continuously sat on it w/out standing up, is about 1.5h (the length between the next gas stop) and never felt the need of stopping because of it.
Plus, it looks killer

Definitely looks killer...is that from DK? Or would you happen to have links or website/part number?

The barrel springs are the most comfortable.

We also have scissor springs, shox and rubber bumpers.

The one pictured above is not ours, it is an import from Mexico, and more expensive.

Here are some links

I've got a Rich Phillips with memory foam 3" springs. I also have a matching tool kit and swing arm bag. I had 2" springs on for a while but would bottom out occasionally. I have a 48 and love the springs. When I ran the stock seat I would get a shock up my spine when I would hit a decent bump or hole in the road. Now I just kinda float over top. It is great! If I had to do it again I would have had them kick up the back of the seat a little more to keep me from sliding when I get on it. Rich Phillips makes all his stuff in the US and I'm pretty sure he makes the stuff for mother roads also. I do like the DK seat as well. They didn't offer a seat when I bought mine. Hope that helps.

I got a mother roads tatoo leather seat kit... honestly the hinge has slop but i can make a bushing to deal with that... otherwise its more comfortable than the stock torture rack the bike had. the leather did change into a brownish/ redish color from moisture

If your shocks are comparable to the ones on a stock dyna that could be a contributing factor. Bottoming out is one thing, stopping after a 1 hr. ride and having to walk around like a damn monkey is another
