Default Sportster 68540-96 turn signal module. NFG

XL Sportster 68540-96 turn signal module

When I got the bike it did not have turn signals, but did have the original turn signal module .

I installed aftermarket markers, they do not flash, just stay on and do not cancel.

The brake light work fine as it should.

Thinking the module was bad, I replaced with a so called good unit. Still no flashing of light.

Went thru the wiring schematic, all is good.

Is there a simple aftermarket unit, that flash the signals.
They would not have to auto cancel.

I could make my own harness, with a simple relay and and flasher. Would rather have a plug and play unit.

So called good used units, are $100+/-

If you used LED signals, then you need a load equilizer.

Can you cancel them manually with the signal switch(es)?

If so, welcome to 1990 and earlier, it's not that bad. A lot of us have been there.

My '91 is the first year with those newfangled self cancelling whatchamacallit gizmo thingys. I still think its black magic.

John
Went back and fixed the post.
It was to say, they come on, but do not flash or cancel.

sounds like a bad or wrong bulb

check the sockets....if it has a single pin in the base of the socket you need a 1156 and if it has 2 pins in the socket you need 1157 bulb
