Club/Thug style Sportster?

Really mad I didn't grab a pic of mine before going out of town for the week! Currently I've got a Ness fairing on my 1200R. Looking to grab some new handlebars soon. I new from the start I was gonna need something taller so I can sit upright, as the stock bars have me hunched a little. That then brought me to go for this "Style" as I like the look of the performance/sleekness. Now if I had a larger and wider bike, then I may have gone the route of ape hangers or something..
It's funny that I went for a ride and a new buddy of mine said "Sweet bike, hey your bike looks just like Jax's bike on SOA" then later at a light challenged me first to 40mph... Yeah I walked his Street Bob after seeing I hit 60mph and rolled off the throttle...

You sure like changing it up frequently, don't you?! Haha!! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your next build.

I know, I know. Ever since losing my Dyna I've been on this quest to get back on one. These Sportster flips build my bank a little at a time so hopefully I can get back on one in the next 6-8 mos. There's about 3-4 DX's and a couple FXR's juuust out of reach financially now. I'm hustling and haggling trying to get in reach but honestly these Sporty's are cheap and plentiful enough to keep me busy. Plus they're so much fun and easy to do that honestly, maybe I'll just keep doing it and forget about the dyna dream.

I hear ya. I've been trying to work towards a Dyna for a few years now. Eventually I'll get there, but, I always get torn on pulling the trigger on a new one...that 2014 Low Rider is really lookin' good...or finding a low km used Super Glide. For the time being, I still love riding my Sportster though.

Not So...
[QUOTE=fuma;12271097] I don't think too many patched members of any club are sitting on sporties.
I'm a patched club member in NYC and i ride a sportster. I know a bunch of club guys who ride 1200 sporties. Nothing better for city riding and long distance as well. Try white lining a street/road/driveway/sofa glide. Sporties are quick and handle amazing and are ultimately customizable.
Love my bike.

Just finished this one. My favorite one thus far. 99 S with an 88" Axtell motor, RB pipe, 8" risers on trimmed nightster bars, Biltwell seat and grips, 2.2 gal tank with a little lift to clear the petcock. Hammer a/c with a chopped ham can cover to clean up the face a little. 2000 and ^ calipers on 99 and down legs with adapters.

The great thing about the Sportster is it's versatility
Many 'looks' all with the same bike.
I admit I don't 'get' the slammed and bagged look, but it has HD on the tank so it is fine by me.
I put the 1/4 screen on mine as I didn't want to have a big bit of plastic in my face while riding. And it changed the ride totally.
So 'club or thug' I don't know.
It's my ride and I like it
