Default Draining gas from tank

I have a tank that i need painted and need to get all the gas out of my tank. It's an EFI system and the tank is completely full. I have a syphon and will use that but i find it leaves a little gas in the tank that when i try removing the fuel pump gas goes all over the place. Is there a better way to do this?

Siphon to the max, screw cap on, flip tank, remove pump, flip back with pump hole over a plastic pan?

I drained most mine out of the gas cap then removed the fuel pump. Then rolled/rocked the tank back and forth from front to back to get the rest of it out. It will still have a tiny amount left in it after all of that. Just let the tank sit for a day or 2 uncovered and the last tiny amount will evaporate.

You damn fuel injected guys with your quick disconnect don't know how good you have it...

Since mine is carb'd here's what I do(it would work on yours)

1. Siphon out as much gas as you can like normal
2. Remove seat
3. Loosen rear tank bolt
4. Remove front bolt
5. Lift front of tank as high as I can while petcock/fuel line is still attached, now all of the remaining fuel is consolidated in the rear of the tank and easier to siphon.
6. Siphon out all you can.
7. Keeping tank slightly raised I remove the petcock.
8. Remove rear bolt and lift tank off.
9. Dump out any gas left.

And since yours is a quick disconnect you can ignore pretty much everything I just said. (Bastards)
