I've got it on mine and it's fine, I got it for $104 so it was not too bad a price. Some knock it and say there are better ones but most are pretty eqaul from all I've heard.

This is what L. Maurice Riggins had to say about the issue:

"You just can't beat theHarley Davidson Screamin' Eagle (SE) air cleaner, which reuses the chrome "ham can" cover. Its filter element has almost twice the surface area of the stock element. There's no other air cleaner on the market that flows nearly as well. Plus, if you ever need to put the bike back to stock, for warranty work for example, you haven't permanently altered the stock components. However, many, if not most, dealers will honor the warranty with the SE air cleaner and slip-on mufflers, particularly if you paid them to install them at delivery or 500 mile checkup for example. Drilling the stock backing plate just gives the dealer an excuse to void your warranty. The SE unit's not much more than a K&N replacement filter for the stock air cleanerand flows a lot better."

There is a BIG distinction between the OLD SE and NEW SE. Maurice was talking about the old SE that came with a K&N filter. The old SE filter was all that you needed for the majority of applications and was a fantastic air filter. The new SE is a complete POS that will neither last as long or flow as well. There were about three revision of the air filter. The first ones were falling apart and getting holes in them, while the later ones were dripping gasoline. Either way, they never went back to using a K&N filter as far as I know. Buy one at your own risk.

I agree with 1200c The new SE air filter is junk.It will last on 10000 miles if you're lucky. The K&N filter is supposed to last 10x longer. Why Harley went away from K&N is beyond me.
