I'd counter with $7600 AFTER taxes and a set of locking bags! Used Sportys are all over the place out there! You could concede the bags, give him his dignity and possibly get a better deal. It's worth a try.

Yeah...I was already thinking about asking him to throw in a set of bags. Going to look at the bike tomorrow.

Hey, it already come with Sundowner seat, shield, sissybar and luggage rack. Yes if they can't throw in bags get them down to 7,200.

Mine is a 2007 XL1200L that had 2800 miles. It was stock except for Hooker exhausts and a detachable windshield. They had it marked at like $7900 and I got it for $5900.

The bike you're looking at has the sissy bar, pad, backpack shelf, and passenger pegs which is another $300 to $400. Plus it's a 2009, so a couple years newer. Seems like a good deal to me. I really like that red color too!

There's always going to be a better deal. But if you really like the bike and you can afford it, then go for it! I will tell you that I absolutely love my 1200L and I am so happy I bought it. The only regret is that I didn't do it sooner!

I just bought mine for 6000. 08 XL1200L anniversary edition. All stock with 8000 miles. I love it it is a beautiful bike. The only thing I don't like is the jokes about riding a sportster and that its a girls bike.

I have an 09 xl1200 low. It had 7000 on it when I bought it last January. I paid $7200 for it. I tried to trade it in for a 2010 Dyna SuperGlide Custom with 10,000 miles on it last week. The stealership offered me $4900 on the trade and they wanted $13,500 for the Dyna. I told them they were crazy. They shook my hand and got up and walked away from the table, so did I.

I got an 11 XL1200 with 3K on the clock last spring out the door(all fees and tax) from an HD dealer for under $7,500. Rode it to Sturgis.
