Default Harley LED headlight ----sucks!!

I just dropped $399 plus tax on a new HD LED headlamp for my 2011 sportster custom. The price is, well, ouch. I watched the video on the HD website, and saw how much brighter and whiter the LED is. For my application, it definitely does not perform like the video. I do get brighter, whitest light. The field of view is very narrow from the horizon to the front of the bike. It is like looking at a very narrow band of white light. At the very bottom of the light, there is an annoying yellow-green band of light.

Overall, I am extremely disappointed and would NOT recommend this light. I had a Silvania silverstar h4 before this for $20, and it was much better.

Pro: bright white light

Con: poor field of view
Annoying colors on the periphery
The light is not uniform, there are patches of light.

Something that costs that much that is a maybe would have to be installed on my bike and proven before I dropped that kind of cash. I would be up to leaving a deposit and installing a used one to try it out. Try that with the dealer. But think about it, that would be customer service.

is there any way you can take a shot of it at night? something like pull your bike into your driveway simulating going down the road? i want to see what the light projection looks like onto the road and not a garage door or wall.

Can't send it back. "once you install it on your bike, there are no returns".

This is the policy at my HD dealership.

My stock 1200 06 Custom headlight is brighter than my car or truck. I can't understand how anyone could be dissapointed in the stock light. I can understand how you can be dissapointed in a $300.00 head light.

The HD website video "sold" me on the light. I may have gotten a lemon, but doubt it. I don't think I got $400 worth of upgrade. I wish I just kept my stock. Also, if you don't install the LED light exactly level, the horizontal bar of light is crooked, and not level with the horizon. If you are a perfectionist, you'll be pissed whenever you ride at night.
