Well then pack your bags and hit the road.

Unfortunately it's not a good idea to buy a tuner first! There are several brands and it is better to find a tuning shop first and buy what they recommend (read: will touch!).

That's a bit surprising on the 11 needing cams to wake it up with the 1250.

I put the NRHS 1250 in my 09 883, along with some "auto tuning" with the power vision and it'll break loose in second, and sometimes 3rd. Get chirps going into 4th a lot too.

It's not surprising about the clutch...until I installed the Energy One clutch, all it did was slip the stock clutch when I went anywhere over 20% throttle.

Have fun!

Kevin did you hear or find anything out about your clutch that you had warrantied. Still curious as to cause of failure. Pm me if.you'd like.

Pulled it out and put the new one in...has worked great since the get go. Only thing different was the 25% stronger than stock spring, I had used the 15% stronger than stock originally. Not sure if that was it, or if I glazed it, or ???

But it locks up good now.

I'm considering converting my 883 in the future. Maybe end of the year, but I'm not mechanically inclined. Can anyone give me a rough estimate of what one should expect to pay having a shop do it?

the main thing i noticed was that the rpm range is a lot better than before. I was doing 70 in 3rd gear & it wasn't really asking for another one. My father is the one that got it loose in 2nd gear. he wasn't expecting it to get up and go like it did. It also could be the difference in the exhaust that i noticed also.

the dealership is going to be expensive, but i'd ask anyways just to get an idea of how long it would take. My father and i did my work. I had a service manual &used the instructions that came with my kit. i had the pistons already installed in the cylinders which saved a lot of time I'm guessing.

How long did it take you to do the job?

I just did similar job. I only changed pistons and cylinders, no head work or cam changing.
Guess I used around 8-9 hours in total. And I took my time since it was the first time I've done something like that.
And then I changed the clutch. Think I used around 2 1/2 - 3 hours on that.

And same with me, rings were pre-gapped and pistons were pre-installed.
