Why not just go to dk and get lowering blocks and use stock height shocks. This will retain better travel vs lowering shock and still net the drop you want.
Just checked DK for lowering blocks. Only saw 1 inch drop. Stock shocks were 12.5 e2e. Current are 11 e2e. Add the extra angle and my current drop is about 2 inches. I have seen some 1.75 inch lowering blocks on ebay but none that say they fit my bike. Getting really frustrated searching.
I had thought the same thing about using lowering blocks since the ride is
great with stock shocks.
Lowering blocks change the angle of the shock. Might be the easy way out but the ride suffers. Get shorter shocks, you back will thank you. Just ordered some Burley 10.5's for the Wife's 1200Custom.

The angle will change slightly no matter lowering shock or block. Every increment you increase or decrease will change angle. There are some running 13.5" shocks that ran 11.5 stock. No issues with them. Just a jiffy extension. You have to give a little to get a little. The shorter the shock the less travel. Rougher ride. I went to 12" from my 11.5" and love them. Would have went longer but spring rates changed going taller. I can't notice the .5" at all. That being said it's a matter of sacrificing function over form.
I have a set of Progressive 440s for sale in the classifieds. They are low miles, 11" eye to eye, custom painted black springs. Let me know if you are interested.
I am interested, but concerned that they will be just as stiff as my current set. I once saw a chart listing several brands with their preload weight distributions. Wish I could remember where.

Well let me know... I don't think these ride too harsh. They definatley ride better than OEM lowering shocks and better than the Progressive 412s I had before them...

OK, I think I will take a chance on them. What is the quickest way, ebay?

I received the shocks. I like them. I had to cut the back end of my chain guard off because they were much larger diameter than my stock and a little bigger than the ones I had on there before, but I did not mind.
I just put a set of Progressive 412's on my Sportster. I bought longer mounting bolts and kicked them out an inch to provide clearance for the chain guard; I didn't want to cut mine. The look is cool.
The ride quality is fine but I've noticed a lot more vibration coming through after the swap.
