Default K&n air filter or screamin eagle with stage one housing?

I currently have the screamin eagle stage one air filter setup on my iron and im thinking about replacing the filter with the k&n filter designed for stage one housing (k&n 0900).
Is there any gain or benefit to to had over the screamin eagle filter?
I really want the dk customs outlaw 587 but the postage and customs cost is the same as the 587 kit!

I switched mine out and I don't care.for oiled air filters. The screamin eagle element had that crappy foam backing to it and just seemed cheap in comparison to the K&N. Don't think one will flow any better per say just K&N will last longer. I want to switch to the hurricane with a horseshoe and catch can setup.

I have the same SE A/C setup with K&N filter which is at least an inch wider that SE filter element which means higher air-flow and I did notice the +ve change in performance and throttle response immediately after changing it.

The K&N is a one time buy. That is probably the only benefit but regardless of bike, has always been the best bang for my buck.

I have the Screamin' Eagle Stage 1 Sportster Air Cleaner Kit #29782-07 on my bike and the filter element is washable.

The K&N 0900 filter as a replacement has the same foam seal against the backing plate. I don't know if it is an improvement over the HD one but they look the same to me except for the colour.

When you do clean either filter I have found Bilt Hamber Surfex HD contains the same cleaning chemical as the K&N cleaner fluid and is so much cheaper plus as a degreaser it can be used on many other parts of the bike and in the kitchen.

Do you have a tuner for the stage 1?

Yes. In the UK the power vision is or was around £150 more than a FP3, so for cost reasons I went with the FP3.

If you plan on getting other bikes in the future you should consider the power vision first as you can get extra licenses that makes it more cost effective.
