Default Tank Lift + low Fuel Indicator not working?

Howdy,

Wondering if anyone else that's done a Tank-lift (I did a 2"), is having their low-fuel indicator not working any longer? I'm getting well past the 1/3 mark which I believe was the stock-point for the low fuel light...any quick fixes if you're having this problem too (besides watching the odometer) ?

Think about it. You have changed how much fuel is now in the back of the tank.
Fuel isn't as level as it was before.
Adjust/bend the float level arm to compensate.

mine actually pops on a little earlier. I read somewhere that you can gently GENTLY bend the rear mount to kinda level the tank out. I dunno though. Most people it becomes sporadic and comes on way to early. Mine still pops on after about 2 gallons gone though. I know that didn't help but from what I understand each bike takes that tank lift a little different.

yeah yeah, I got that - I just didn't know *where* the float was located, or even if HD were using a float. Thanks!

The way I figure it, if you raise the back of your bike up approx. 4.10763" everything should go back to normal.

Anything else?

I've found on my 72 that for every inch I raise the tank the light comes on around 10 miles sooner than stock I currently run a 3" lift Every bike is different based to raising the front & lowering the rear. Why yours quit working is another issue I think.
