48x23. I realize I'm probably going to have to change it at some point, but I just wanted a starting point. I'm not racing it, so it will get me out of the garage and on the street.

95% done. Phil Little's 15" Progressive Shocks and Spring really got the *** end up in the air where it belongs!

Adds:

Performance machine 4 pots front and rear. I'll try not to kill myself with an endo when I hit all 8 front pistons...

10" rear brake kit with torque arm to frame from Storz Performance

15" Progressive Shocks & Springs from Phil Little

Did you do anything to the front to match the much longer shocks in back? Or is it *** high now?

Yes, if the '99's are any ratio similar to the '88-'90's, that would be a real long legged machine. It comes out to a ratio of 2.087, which is real long, and then even more so with the rear flat track tire being about 2.5" taller than original.

I have those 15" tall rear progressive shocks (Progressive Suspension) from Phil as well. They do put the back end up level with the front. The bike now doesn't look like it's going up hill with them compared to originals. The springs look good in the contrasting color to the black shock and its mounts.

I didn't do anything to the front. As Street Tracker said, the 19" wheels, tires and shocks level the frame out.

Since you have the gear calculator handy, how many teeth on the rear should I be looking for to get to a little lower than stock?

You currently: 23/48 ratio 2.087
You original: 29/61 ratio 2.103 (belt)
Options:
22/48 ratio 2.182
21/48 ratio 2.286
21/50 ratio 2.381
20/48 ratio 2.400

So, "a little lower than stock" would be 22/48. That would be a change of a bit over 4%. The bigger rear tire is over 9% larger in circumference than the original.
