Default 2003 XL 1200C good buy?

Hello HD fans,

Found an 03 XL 1200C in my area. It was a “wife” bike. Not ridden very much since 09. 2780 miles, jet kit, wind shield, muffs. Needs new rubber... 5 grand firm.

Any thoughts?
Thanks so much for your time.

I sold my 2006 883 that was in perfect condition about 2 years ago for 3k. Had 6k miles, mufflers..after market seat, brand new tires. upgraded everything and I was lucky to get that. Sold it at the beginning of summer too. That bike isn’t rubber mounted or fuel injected, he’s asking way too much.

I bought my wife’s 2006 883 last year for 3300$. 1 owner and all original. 5 grand is way too high.

Ouch, $5k and it's not even in pristine new runnable condition? One with good tires and not dryrotted rubber/gaskets should still only be $3k tops. Knock off another $500 for needing new rubbers front and back plus whatever else is actually wrong. Probably more like a $2k-$2500 bike.

I picked up this 2006 1200 Custom for $3700 about a week ago. Runs perfect and came with a few goodies (Slip-ons, Quick detach windshield and backrest with the rear rack, crash bar with pegs and a "cupholder" for the win!). 12K miles.

Wow! Thanks so much for the input. I ride solo with no buds or friends to bounce stuff off of. I love the forums and want to thank everyone for the help. I learn so much everytime I visit.
