Highway Riding
Hey guys , I've been riding for a few years and am having issues riding on the highway on my 2010 iron. I don't ride far on highway maybe 30 40 minutes at a clip , I feel unstable and the parkways here are pothole ridden , I feel as if every hole I hit could send me into a tank slapper because I get jarred so bad over them . I try to avoid them but sometimes the road makes it unavoidable. Aside from potholes like I said I feel fairly unstable , most is probably nerves but if anyone has any tips for highway riding on a sporty I'm all ears

Maybe you should take a motorcycle riding course. If you have then take the next level up.
If you don't feel relaxed when riding on the highway take alternate roads. Yes riding is a risk but thats part of the adrenaline rush. Maybe a trike is in your future if you continually fear unstable.

i would say ride in the slower lanes but, these are the lanes with the most interaction with ramps and tend to have more cars moving in and out of them, obstructing your vision of oncoming road hazards.

might be time to rethink this whole bike thing. if you hit a pothole and went down, you should not be out in the public...you could hit another one and take down another rider with you. let me know when you will be on the texas coast, and i will be sure and play golf that day. might even give you a pop a side...if you would like a friendly wager!

I'm assuming you mean Road King shocks on the rear, not the front. At 130lbs, your forks aren't useless. Might want to consider lighter springs and oil, possibly taking your bike to a suspension specialist to balance the whole suspension out. Also, go get your wheels balanced. At highway speed, especially between 60-70 is when you're going to notice the wobble if the tires are out of balance or a bent rim.

Aside from this clown above me , I was looking for helpful tips instead of assanine remarks. For Your information mister golfer the whole was about 7 inches deep and about the size of a car tire around , hidden at night under an overpass with no lighting on the road , the bike went in the whole so hard it immedoatle broke the lock tabs on the lower tree and threw me over the bars , these things happen sometimes when riding I'd have loved to see you hold on to the bike in a condition like that .....why even bother replying to say something like that
