Looking good!
I did something similar with a short pipe after 2-1 collector. Have a TTI in there for power, and to deepen the tone a bit....it is loud...I like it.
Are you looking to muffle the sound some, or just looking for the best power along with some good volume?
I used BBQ rattle can paint and then Titanium wrap. That was about 8000 miles ago and is holding up well.
Very cool what you're doing.

Total Kudos to you for trying what I gave up on: I had the Fleabay 2-1 collector piece picked, some piping and plans, but I discovered the affordable Patriot Defenders 2-1 with adjustable gate and glasspack, and was sold, for about $178.00 -the sound is awesome with gate half open. I'd 86 the beercan baffles if I were you. Glass will ALWAYS sound better, unless you LIKE nasally, blatting fartcans, and isn't that hard to fab up. At your level, I'd tack everything and take it to the local welders for finish pricing. Even tiny holes make a bike sound like $hit.
Thanks

Black BBQ paint is my friend lol. I actually got the idea to do my own exhaust the other day from your bike. I was looking at another thread where you had posted it and I wanted to see what I could do. I keep going back ad forth between titanium wrap, white wrap, and my usual black wrap painted over again with black bbq paint.
In keeping with the low buck theme I already have a couple of half rolls of black wrap in the cabinet, but may splurge and get some titanium wrap.
On a different note, reliability is also the theme and I need a new battery. I was looking at the lithium batteries on your website last night. Which size should I get for the 1200 Sportster?

Cool, I'm betting you're going to like the sound and look! I wish the titanium came in black.
I am running a 12 cell in mine. It has higher than stock compression, and is a 1250cc. No problems, but it does hesitate the first 1-2 seconds, then cranks right over. The 16 cell is what is recommended for the 1200.
I am very happy with mine...really small, and never a lick of trouble. When I was doing some work on mine, I took the battery out and set it on the shelf for 8 months. When I had the bike back together with the new tight engine in it, popped it in and that new tight engine right over. BUT...It's a far cry from a low buck solution.
Don't know if you've heard my pipes...here's a vid...nothing in there except the TTI at a 45* angle, which is quite a bit louder than the 90*.

Thanks, the parts from Summit are showing out for delivery so hopefully I'll have the mock up finished tonight along with a bracket fabbed then finish welding it up along with painting and wrapping tomorrow. I almost forgot I need to run in and get some new exhaust gaskets for the final install.

Parts came and final mock up and tacking is complete. I finished about 1/3 of the final welding and decided to take a break for a little bit since it's about 94 outside and about 10 degrees hotter in the workshop. It was frigging hot welding. LOL
I probably could have sucked the upper pipe in 1-1.5" closer to the engine, but decided not to since it made it look like the exhaust was falling over; it just looked odd.
Mock up complete photo.
