Starting a home made 2 into 1..........

Finished the welding, inspecting for pin holes(found 6) and final fit tonight. I'll clean up a couple of the welds tomorrow, make a hanger bracket, sandblast it, paint and wrap it. I'm sure I'm biased, but I'm happy with the sound and look. It's not as slick as some, but it was $72 vs. $700 and it's my own creation so it won't look like everyone else's. Nothing wrong with that, but I really wanted to do something different.
Here is the first run of it. Not the best video, but you get the idea.

Finished it............
Thanks to everyone for the encouraging words. I was going to paint the wrap like I did on my Dyna, but decided not to, It's only 5 bolts to take it off and paint if I decide I want it painted.
I forgot to get a picture of the mounting/stabilizer bracket, but it's just a piece of 1/2 wide 1/8" thick strapping bent into an "L" shape with a hole drilled at each end and bolted to a 5/16" bolt welded to the underside of the turnout and then held to the frame by lower passenger peg bolt.

It's loud, but not as loud as my Dyna with Bassani Prostreets. Torque feels good, but no way of really knowing if it improved since I don't have a before dyno sheet and I won't be getting an after dyno done.
Now that I know I can do it and it's not that difficult or expensive I see no reason to live with pipes I want to change. LOL
I spent about 15-20 hours over 4 days working on this one.

Took it out for about an hour this morning to get the pipes heated up and to get the wrap smoke out of the way. Runs good and sounds good, I'm liking the turnout, it's just enough to direct the exhaust sound away from the bike. I was afraid I may have gotten the upper pipe a little too far from the engine and too close to the leg, but it doesn't seem to be an issue. I'm going to put a brass heat shield on it anyway so it should be good to go.

It's far easier to make your own pipes than it seems at first glance... I'm working on some ideas for some one-off pipes for my 103.
