XL1200T Exhaust / vibration problem
#11
My vibraton issue is around 2750-2900 RPM in any gear. But, I never ride in that RPM range (too low for ME). I usually ride around 3400-3500 RPM in any gear. In 4th gear at 60+ no vibration you are talking about. In 5th gear at 70 no vibration you are talking about.
My "sweet spot" (the less vibration) is 50 mph in 3rd, 60 mph in 4th and 70 mph in 5th gears. I don't have the vibration you are having in your gears/speed.
I also am not sure what you consider "severe vibration". My right mirror doesn't blur from vibration until around 75+mph. My left mirror blurs over
50 mph. Nature of the beast. My 2007 XL1200R had no blured mirrors at
any speed/RPM.
On a 1200cc, you really should not be feeling "severe" vibration in the 60-72 mph...not really...going to have some, but no way should have what you describe. But again, I don't know how the vibration feels to you. It might be normal to me?....

Tried the riding around at 3400/3500 revs. Sounds just short of screaming the ***** off it. Wonder if the slip ons not right for this model. I have noticed on some days she starts out with a deep steady sound then after a stop she starts with more of a tinny sound, like it's trying to impersonate a jap bike.
Wondering if the aftermarket parts are up to date with this model?
I did notice tonight while it was warming up it sounded like, stage 1'd, it was struggling to keep up on the air side a couple of times.
