Default Carb adjustment screw

Trying to figure out if my engine cutting out at idle and under throttle while riding is from bad fuel mix or maybe just gas.

The carb fuel mixture screw is open (the factory cover is off) and all of a sudden after rebuilt carb this spring it started cutting out when hot at idle and while riding.

I plan on dumping the tank and cleaning the fuel filter it's a new line but should I do any mixture adjustments? Can't tell if it's rich or lean.

I would change the gas before anything to rule it out.

There's an old saying, 99% of carb problems are electrical. Your symptoms sound more like a bad ignition coil to me. A carb will not suddenly cut out.

It's 89 sporty with a 92 carb and it was owned by someone else who clearly made it made it more Frankenharley then an 89 deluxe.

Any way. Changed the gas. Carb rebuild kit. New plugs. Wires have been replaced in last 4 years. Regulator replaced new battery.

And turned the fuel mix 1/4 turn counter to what the previous owner had it at.

Seems to run like a top at the moment.
