Default Handle bars

Going to swap my low rider bar out for some 10 inch mini apes on 2 inch risers.

Any suggestions on if I can save the left grip? Do I have to destroy the grip and or the rubber part under the grip? Or more importantly is the whole grip reusable?

I like the grip it's self but can't figure out what you would call the rubber under there if I can't get it all off.

And did anyone figure out cable lengths to bars or just drop a tape measure.

you might as well scrap the idea of saving it, go get some upgraded grips that you really like. You can try and save it but in the end it won't feel like its worth it.

You can save the grip by spraying a little wd40 under it and twisting until the glue breaks loose. As for cables, you may need a longer clutch cable and brake line. I have 8" bars on my bike and I needed to get a longer brake line. I went with 42" because I may go higher down the road. I think 42" would be perfect for your set up. You'll also need new banjo fittings. Your idle and throttle cables are long enough so you don't need to worry about those, I had 12" bars on my other sporty and didn't change them and I had plenty of play. You need to lift your tank and see how much extra wiring is hidden under there to determine whether or not you need to extend it so the controls reach the height of the bars.
