I can't say enough good things about my Rush 1.75" slipons. Best mod I've ever done, I wish I had done it on day one.

I like my Khrome Werks 3" HP Plus slip ons. Very, very deep sound. I added the noise reduction kit to drop the loudness down some and improve the low/mid range. Good kick in torque/HP for the $$ (paid $247 pluse $20 for the sound reduction kit).

If you get the Straight Shots, get a set of Thunder Torques Inserts, it will drop the tone a bit deeper AND will give some extra low and mid range power...those pipes tend to have a dip in the low and mid range.

Give a listen to these...certainly "cheap", plus you'll have a nice gain in power.

Another option is to build your own...not terribly expensive with an Exhaust Builders Kit, may have the sound you like, plus it will be a look you like (since you can do anything you like) and you can get some really good power out of them.

Here's my Sporty with my take with the Exhaust Builders Kit.

Will a bike require tuning if I add the thunder torque inserts to my 48 with a Stage 1 AC?

I like my Rush slip ons. Everyone here's me and that is what I want to alert the cage drivers.

No, there is no tuning change required when using the TTI's. They increase the exhaust gas velocity in the exhaust tract, reducing reversion so that the exhaust is not working against the engine.

2-1 would be the best IMO.

Hands down one the most bang for the buck upgrades you can do. I did it a few weeks back and I'm totally stoked.

One nice thing about the thunder torque inserts is you can rotate them in either direction, or angle for different tones and performance.

Here is mine with the Rush Exhaust with 2 1/4" baffles. Huge difference from stock muffler.
