Default Best slip on exhaust for sporster?

Hello,
I have a 2012 Sportster 1200 and want to put an exhaust on it for better sound. I don't wanna spend a lot of money on a stage one kit. I was thinking about slip ons. I saw some Vance and HInes straight shot slip ons that weren't too much. Any reccommendations on any other that would sound good and be cheap? Thanks for any input!

Robert,

I have the exact same slip ons. Fantastic noise and everyone compliments it. Plus they streamline the entire exhaust. I think you'll be happy with them

regards

If you just have to have cheap, Cycle Shack slip-ons are about the least expensive and are plenty loud.

I put on SE Street Performance slip-ons, took out the packing and the baffles and then installed DK Customs Thunder Torque Inserts.

Rode with my buddy this morning who has and Iron with V&H Short Shots, my pipes are a lot louder and provide better performance the V&H

I dont know about best because I only have tried rush 1.75 and can highly recommend it. I hear people say 2" is too loud and even heard one guy went back to 1.75 after installing 2"s.

I just installed the 3" Cobra Slip ons. Sound great and not super loud and has a nice deep tone. Can be found fairly cheap online.

I'm putting mine on this week, black(263.) looked better than others, don't need to be loud just more tone. 90 % of the loud HD's remind me of being 16 and taking the muffler off my first car, loud just to be loud.

Remove stock mufflers, buy your preferred tips, install DK Customs Thunder Torque Inserts into tips and weld the tips on to the stock header pipes, then either put back on stock heat shields or wrap the pipes! Sounds great, looks great, and performs great because of the thunder torque inserts and the bike will be lighter due to removing the heavy stock mufflers and the brackets.
