I just bought a 2005 xl1200c with 20,000 miles mine ticks after it warms up too.. It's coming from the top end.. Sounds like lifters.. IS THAT COMMON ???
rockers. Top end on the 1200 is a tad noisy. Might want to check valve clearances anyway.
does it happen when the engines both hot and cold? or one or the other? Try to listen to where in the engine its coming from, top end bottom etc. Could be excessive valve clearance.
I have an '03 that has made noise since I bought it. Everyone told me it was normal, and it hasn't failed yet. I know guys that didn't realize it until they changed from a full face helmet to a half helmet. If you wear a full face helmet, then you won't hear it as much.
Same here on my 03. I here it more with 1/2 helmet on and even more when I ride itch the Winsheid on!
