That's why I don't ride Hondas, cuz they have exploding chains, the Harley's are much better cuz they only cone w belts, now. Plus jap bikes don't last very long, until you want a faster one. Harley's out of the factory are fast, that's why people keep their flatheads and shovelheads.

Chain install 24/55t. Sunday install

Monday ride to work

Bike has a reving midrange now. No lag on launch. 175 ft lbs is beast for the compensator sprocket, couldn't take the trans sprocket nut off at first. Was more beast than the compensator nut. Mad props to anyone who does the 30t trans sprocket. It was hard work.

+1 to that, belt is the way to go unless you can figure out how to do that shaft drive on a Harley.

my belt lasted exactly 30 k miles, for a mere 500 € in parts. The rear sprocket was really heavily pitted, I'm riding in salty winters over here.

My chains last 20 k miles, for a 175€ in parts.

Chain is the way to go, to me anyway...

Oh!

By the way, the rear part of my bike doesn't rust anymore, with all that 80W90 gear oil I put on the O-ring chain each friday which is splashing around...
