Default Biltwell Grips Fitment Question

I am at work and was looking to buy a set of Biltwell Kung Fu grips and whiskey throttle tubes for my 2003 Sportster 883C 100th Anniversary but it is showing 2 different sizes of OD available: 7/8" or 1" and both list my year and model. Can someone tell me which one of these are correct? I wanted to order them this morning and I have no way of measuring from work.

Also wanted to ask someone who has installed these grips: Is the cost of the whiskey throttle tube worth it over a plastic one that costs WAY less?

Thanks!
John

Pretty sure HD bars should be 1". I think you would have to go way back to the 70's to find 7/8" bars, or maybe to Japan.

I used a $2.99 throttle tube from J&P, worked just fine. I think you could cut the old grips off your stock throttle tube and reuse as well.

I put the Kung Fu grips on my 1991 Sporty in May, nice product.

The Whiskey throttle is a nice piece. Fits more snugly over the bar end so there isn't that weird sloppy feeling like stock. If you're strapped and want to save the coin, the stock sleeve will work just fine. And yes 1" throttle is what you want.

Just an FYI, I have a set of Kung Fu grips on my bike, the ribs of the grip are already falling off in high contact areas after less then 6 mo's on the bike and I don't even ride that much.

Hello guys,

I know the thread is kinda old but my question is relevant I think, so...

I am interested in changing the rubber of the grips(stock) of my Iron 883 with the Biltwell Torker rubber grips. My question is, do I need to purchase a throttle tube as well or I can just cut the stock rubber and replace it?

Thank you!

Yep you can just cut the old grips off and push on the new ones.
