Wondering if I could use my helmet lock that attaches to the plate mount with this folded unit. does the plate just get 'compressed' in place or does it go through those 'holes'?

 

Not sure I fully understand the question, the license plate bolts to the flip out plate that can be folded back in. Do you have a picture of your helmet lock or the current setup on your bike?

So it mounts with the 4 bolts in the corners with locking nuts.

but you're doesnt include the light correct?

 

Mine doesn't have a light on it, the only thing I would be worried about would be that the end where the lock would attach is a plastic piece that could potentially break off, it doesn't look like it would hold a lot of weight if you planned on using it with the helmet attached while riding.

 

naw, no worries there, this is NJ, we have helmet laws, would take about 5 minutes without a helmet on to get pulled over round these parts. would only be when I park the bike.
