Default CT on aftermarket rims

I need help on what way and which rim to use. I want to put new chrome rims on my '09 Ultra, I have a Yokohama Envigor CT to put on rear of bike. I was told by a factory rep of a reputable tire and rim company that I can't run a CT on aftermarket rim. Instead of just listening to him I decided to put the question to the darkside crew and see what the real experts say. What chrome rim setup can I put on bike that I can run my CT?

Never considered this issue until you brought it up.

Why would an aftermarket rim have a different bead lay out than an OEM rim? I admit that I don't know for sure, but it doesn't seem to make sense to me. If a car tire will work on a Honda rim, or Triumph rim or a HD rim...etc why should it have an issue with aftermarket rims? That just doesn't sound right to me....

As a different idea have you considered just getting a set of OEM rims chromed?

Yes PF I have but what I was wanting to do is have a 21" rim on front and an 18" on rear. I thought the same as you and presented that question to him and his reply was "can't get the CT bead set on aftermarket rim". I call bulls**t I say its just the usual dealer telling me what he wants me to hear just to sell something. Thats why I posted the question here cause yall have nothing to gain just the truth. Thanks for the info.
