Default car tire on trike front

Is there a thread that discusses putting a car tire on front of a trike? If not, any thoughts?

I find the stock front tires are lasting about 20K. Do a search on mounting a bike rear tire backwards on the front. It may last another 10K.

Default CT of front of trike

I don't see why not. The thing is you probably have a 3" rim on the front and that is like trying to find a good car tire for a pre-09 Harley.

It can be done, but I think you would be better off going to a BattleAxe on the front. The BA has dual compound rubber and the center is really hard. A trike should get great mileage out of it.

better off going to a rear bike tire and running it in reverse. you will get more miles out of it.

How do we know that if no one has tried the CT on the front?

Default CT on front

If I had a trike, I would research buying a 09+ rear wheel off of ebay and see what it would take to mount it on the front end.

If you could do that, you could put a 205 car tire on the front end. I bet it would last forever.

Default front dark

Trike guys, here's how you get a car tire to mount on the front. Buy any brand of 5.5 inch modular wheel, 16"-18" , Performance Machine, RevTech, etc. If you watch Ebay they can be bought about half price of new or just pick out a new one . The hub has to be front, double or single disc, ABS or non whatever your choice. You have a safe 7" between the stock forks, purchase your tire accordingly. Contact Led Sled on line or phone and buy a rear fender blank 8" wide for $150 and they will cut it to a wrap design , you will have to finish, paint and cut a slot so fork tubes will tuck inside the fender to give the tire all the clearance needed or shave the forks . Their fender blanks are rounded to fit MC tires but should roughly match a CT or find a fender supplier to sell you a squared fender design. Or you can go the kit route and contact Native Custom Baggers.https://www.nativecustombaggers.com/index.php/

hey, for what it’s worth, we put the Bridgestone on the front of my wife’s ‘14 triglide, and am not even gonna get 10k out of it. I know tire west is completely speculative, but it just didn’t do well on the trike. Got 25k out of the factory Dunlop’s

You can buy a lot of Dunlops for what the mods to get a car tire up front will cost you.
