That is one sexy pic. I have always thought the car tire thing was only for super wide tires until a few months ago. It's certainly a cool look. Gonna have to look into it a bit more.

Here is the latest pic of Miss Mayhem. 2008 'Darkside Bones". 1300 miles on the Hankook Ventus (205/55r17) and loving it. Took about 300 miles to get broken in but now she rides like a dream. Best money I've spent on the girl so far! Speedo reads exactly 1 mph fast and I can accept that. Have found no down side so far and don't anticipate any...

What about the lean in corners? With the tire being flat rather than the rounded profile of bike specific tires so you feel a major difference on cornering?

Yes. People who do this mod are more concerned about the looks rather than the handling .

I just jumped over to the other dark side threads and it confirmed my suspicions. My safety is more important than looks and saving a few bucks. Sidewalls aren't strong enough and the tire to flat of a profile. Ill stick with a motorcycle specific tire. The car tire looks cool but its not for me.

Still scraping my foot boards on a regular basis. After the first couple of rides you will get more comfortable (once past the thinking about the flat profile thing). After the tire is broken in you will not even notice a difference anymore. Pay no attention to the nay sayers that are violating Forum policy by posting in violation fo rule #1 at the top of this forum. Safety is not an issue
