I've got a Dunlop 195 55 16 on my 2013 Limited. I had a 205 55 16 on my 2011 Limited. Either size will work for you. The Dunlop is a SP5000. I've got a Michelin runflat on my spare wheel that I will be putting on within the next couple of months.

I've been looking at the specs on A LOT of tires now since I'm going to come over to the Dark Side this year on my '13 Ultra and the over all diameter of the OEM MC tire is much closer to a 195-205/60-16 than the 195-205/55-16. Only about a tenth of an inch. Just wondering if the 60 would keep the speedo closer than the 55 and will i have an issue with clearence with the 60. Just want to get as much rubber tucked in the fender as possible. BTW thanks to everyone for all your input on this.

I just pulled up my Thunder Max manual and read up on calibrating the speedo. I pulled 3 mph at 60 and now it is accurate plus or minus 1 mph. I think some of the other ECM (the Power Vision?) can also calibrate the speedo..

Update!
Well, I now have over 10,000 miles on my GMax. The tire still looks like new and even better I have not spontaneously combusted!
I am currently running 37 psi cold for a combination of good ride vs best handling.
Went to Thunder in the Valley in Johnstown, Pa last weekend. For those of you who don't know the event was basically rained out and I got to ride home (about 240 miles) thru light to medium rains and extremely gusty winds. I had no problems at all except except for the fact that I kept needing to slow down because I was leaving my riding buddies behind! When it comes to riding in the rain, DARK SIDE ROCKS!
I have now ridden the Dragon, the Cherohala Skyway in the rain and a thousand other roads with my car tire and I still love it. Other than if I buy a new bike I will never not ride on the Dark Side again.
And best of all I did not die in horrible agony like all the naysayers kept telling me I would! (I like not dying!)

good afternoon all
I have been running a Michelin alpine pa 3 run-flat for two years and i will have to replace the tire this year. i have ran over 22,000 miles and should get near 24,000 when i am done. the tread depth is at 4/32 and the wear indicators are now showing. my riding season is not done yet, so i will temporarily go back to a motorcycle tire, which i have had in storage, for the rest of the riding season which should be in another 5,000 miles. i am not sure which way to go for my next car tire, but the alpine pa 3 is a great tire.

I have been riding 30 plus years and surprised I never heard of anybody running a car tire on a 2 wheeled scoot! Curious, how does a car tire handle on sharp turns? I tend to think it would fight the lean. The other pros sound good though! My Softail has a little rake and stretch with a 6'' over front end and all I do is lean hard into turns and the bike glides real nice. It sounds interesting trying a car tire. Is it best to have a rear mag or can the tire be mounted safely on a spoke rim. Currently run a 150 Avon. Thanks for any schooling.
