HARLEY: Race tuner ECM questions

Race tuner ECM questions
Not looking for should you, legality, etc. Just wondering if its possible.
Could you have your/my bike (up to 2016) tuned at a dealer with a canned map/street tuner to be EPA compliant. And purchase another ECM and have to tuned with a screaming eagle race tuner (if you have one) or another tuner and swap ECMs if service or warrantee work is required? Would you also need to swap the TSSM as its married to the ECM?
Again please not looking for moral or legal discussions. Just curious if it could be done or would you need access to a digital tuner every time you wanted to swap?
Thanks in advance
Mark

This is what people are saying about '17 and up bikes. Someone is just going to have to try it to find out whether you can get away with it or not. Hard to do since none of the aftermarket companies including XYZ sell a tuner for Milwaukee 8 bikes yet.

That's why I am asking who I am asking. Rigid uses TTS and has access to a DT. A good resource to get to the bottom of this. Besides, he isn't known to blow smoke like I have heard from other dealers.
Are you talking about the dynojets tuning devices? Funny thing is. If you talk to the guys working to get the new M8 stuff out from DJ. They get a bit upset that somebody takes credit for their work, and rightly so.

Depends on how sharp the dealer tech is- the "race tuned?" flag is only set by the SEPST or the old SERT, not by the TTS. If the tuner uses standard TTS naming conventions, it's a dead giveaway, as no factory cal is ever called DAC009-01-A0.MT9. If the tuner uses the edit calibration part number tool to cal it "31882-10D", then it looks to the dealer tech as a stock calibration, as "31882-10D" will be displayed in Digital Tech, and the "Race Tuned" will = NO, when using Master Tune.
This info was accurate last time I checked. I have not yet verified this on 2017 models, and may not get the chance.
