DYNOJET: Ign timing

Ign timing
I have notice that my 2016 heritage runs better in autotune. I do know that when it is in autotune the timing is retard 4 degrees.I have look thru the data logs and have noticed That the engine is intermently picking up a spark knock under 3k rpm. Then the ECM retards the timing up to 1/4 to 2 degrees. This happens on both cylinders, but not at the same time. Would I be better to global retard the timing 2 degrees and have the ECM advance the timing instead of the engine have spark knock retard.

If you are seeing .25-2 degrees of timing being pulled I would remove timing right before you see the ecm pull the timing but only a couple points then check to see if it is good. But before you pull timing make sure your VE's are set correctly then pull the timing and double check both fuel and timing. I would not pull 2 degrees out of the entire map because you are not seeing knock events in the entire map.
